Traditional Apprenticeship Programme (TAP)
01 AugustMasvingo Polytechnic is going to run courses under the Traditional Apprenticeship Programme for persons who want to join the Micro Enterprise Sector. These are courses for self-starters, people who have ambition to become SELF-EMPLOYED and be their own boss. The programme offers four-block release courses of two weeks and emphasize on attachment on a full time basis. Intensive follow-up and monitoring are done during periods of attachment .Business management training will be offered to those who intend to start their own businesses after graduation. The programme offers practical skills training in the following courses:

Environmental Health Department
17 JulyThe course is designed to develop an environmental health technician with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to satisfy the needs of the health sector and allied industries. The course is done on a full time basis where the trainee will go to college for theory during school terms and go on attachment during school holidays. The trainee will be assessed through continuous assessment, written examinations, research project and on the Job Education and Training. The course will include Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics culture; gender main streaming and sustainable development concepts.
Course Aim
To develop an Environmental Health Practitioner with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to promote sustainable environmental health.
Course Objectives
Graduates of the course should be able to:
- Examine building plans and inspect buildings for compliance with public health requirements;
- Monitor adherence to environmental and other requirements;
- Manage environmental health programmes;
- Prevent and control communicable and non-communicable diseases;
- Solve public health problems through effective research
- Implement health and safety regulations at the workplace;
- Demonstrate a critical, logical and objective approach to problem solving.
NC Environmental Health

TAP & Improvers Programme
- Offered on block release to those who need to develop effectively and systematically attain psychomotor and cognitive skills to all school leavers including those who did not attain a full certificate at ‘O’ level.
